Punjab BJP Mahila Morcha president Jai Inder Kaur today visited several rain-affected villages in the Sanour constituency, including Doodhan Sadhan, Budhmor and Tajlpur. During her visit, she personally assessed the damage caused by the recent heavy rains and interacted with the villagers to understand their concerns.

Speaking to the media, Jai Inder Kaur highlighted the grave losses faced by farmers, particularly the destruction of paddy crops due to excessive rainfall. She added that in Tajlpur village, water had entered residential areas, severely disrupting daily life and making mobility and routine activities difficult for the residents.

Targeting the ruling Aam Aadmi Party, she remarked, “Had timely measures been taken to prevent floods, Punjab would not have been pushed into such a dire situation. Neither were the canals desilted nor were any preventive steps undertaken. To make matters worse, not a single leader from AAP has come forward to check on the condition of these distressed villagers.”

Reassuring the affected families, Jai Inder Kaur stated, “The Narendra Modi-led Central Government stands firmly with the people of Punjab in this hour of crisis. A special central team has already visited the state to assess the situation, and its report will serve as the basis for further assistance.”

Kaur also shared that her team has been actively distributing tarpaulins, drinking water, and fodder for cattle among the affected families.
