Two persons were killed when a speeding truck hit a car on the National Highway in Sirhind. The deceased were identified as Karamu Nabha, a resident of Lubana village, and Navin Garg of Kailash Nagar, Ludhiana. ASI Jasmer Singh said one Jaswinder Singh complained to the police that his brother-in-law and his friend were going towards Fatehgarh Sahib in their car last evening when near the T-point at Tarkhan Majra, a truck (NL01N 2813) hit them. They were rushed to the hospital where the doctors declared them brought dead. The complainant said the truck driver fled the spot. The police have registered a case against the truck driver.
