Man dead, 12 injured as bus collides with truck in Patiala

The mishap occurred as a PUNBUS bus and a truck collided head on.
Bus conductor Anmol Singh (45) died on the spot.
Six injured were admitted to Rajindra Hospital, Patiala, while the others were shifted to Manipal Hospital.
According to sources, several of the injured suffered serious head injuries, and the condition of one of them is reported to be critical.
Police and rescue teams reached the spot soon after receiving the information.
SHO of Anaj Mandi police station, Gurnam Ghumman, said the conductor’s body has been kept in the mortuary of Rajindra Hospital and the matter is under investigation.
The accident caused a long traffic jam on the road, which was later cleared.
Preliminary investigation suggests that the collision occurred due to high speed and an attempt to overtake.
