The police said Lal Singh and Jassa Singh worked as security guards at a private company. The latter took medical leave from the job and in return got his son, Dalbir Singh, deployed in his place, but the company relieved the boy stating he was underage.

The father and son accused Lal Singh of disclosing the boy’s age to the company. Later, Lal Singh was ,allegedly, thrashed to death by the suspects.

The police said following the assault, Satnam Singh, son of Lal Singh, attacked the other party with his father’s licensed gun in which two relatives of Dalbir, identified as Karanbir Singh (15) of Patran and Tinku (22) of Majaula village, were injured.
