Providing coaching to aspirants of UPSC civil services exam (CSE) for over 40 years, Vinod Sharma (71) who runs a coaching institute in Patiala, says clearing the prelims exam has become a dicey situation for aspirants after 2011 and wants the UPSC to bring reforms. Sharma was visited by his student Gamini Singla on Sunday, who scored all India 3rd rank in UPSC 2021, the results of which were declared on May 30.

Sharma says he has delivered over 500 IAS and PCS success stories since 1986. I started teaching in 1980. Clearing the prelims exams has become a dicey matter after 2011, he said. “Earlier there was an optional exam. But now, qualifying prelims is only a dream for aspirants. I have conveyed it to the UPSC to diversify the risk many times”, he said and expressed high hopes from the bureaucracy of the country to deliver in the interest of the people.
