A zonal convention of the South Zone of Council of Junior Engineers PSEB was held here today. A large number of JEs, AAEs and promoted engineers working under in Patiala (Distribution Circle), Patiala head office, Ropar, Sangrur, Barnala and Mohali circles participated in the meeting, stated Vikas Gupta, secretary, South Zone of Council of JEs.

Paramjit Singh Khattra, state president, Davinder Singh, general secretary, Amandeep Jehlavi, office secretary of the council, and other leaders addressed the gathering and highlighted various important achievements of the council.

The convention highlighted the main pending demands of junior engineers. All leaders emphasised that the council needed to be strengthened, as the central and state governments were bent upon privatising the power sector. The convention strongly opposed the decision to privatise the power distribution sector of Chandigarh and UP.
