Patiala, September 13

In order to check and curb the spread of Covid-related rumors, following which many people are avoiding treatment, the Patiala Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Vikram Jeet Duggal, has devised a novel way of adopting five villages each at the level of DSPs and SHOs.

Giving more information, the SSP said, “Though rumour mongers have been booked, to make residents aware of the seriousness of coronavirus, we have initiated a sensitisation campaign.”

“Our awareness campaign has got a warm response from the community as residents of 98 villages and colonies have resolved to get themselves tested for coronavirus surpassing all rumours,” the SSP added.

The police would continue awareness drive in the future too, the SSP said.
