DC Sakshi Sawhney transferred to Ludhiana
Patiala, January 29
After serving as Deputy Commissioner of Patiala district for nearly two years, DC Sakshi Sawhney was been transferred to Ludhiana. Showkat Ahmad Parray is set to replace Sawhney as the new DC for the district. Parray, 2013 batch IAS officer of the Punjab cadre, was serving as DC Bathinda.
Sakshi Sawhney, a 2014 batch IAS officer, took over as Patiala DC in April 2022, becoming the first woman to hold the post. Sawhney held the post of MC Commissioner of Patiala as well. Besides her various public-centric initiatives, her efforts in reaching out to people who were hit by floods in various villages last year were appreciated by residents.
