A 65-year-old man died while two others were stated to be critical following yet another diarrhoea outbreak in Patiala.

This time the outbreak has taken place in Changera village near Rajpura Banaur Road. The deceased has been identified as Sarwan Singh, while those who are critical have been identified as Amar Singh and Gurpal Singh, aged 55 and 65 years respectively.

After receiving the information, the health department team led by civil surgeon Dr Jagpalinder Singh arrived at the village and collected samples. Nearly 20 persons have undergone treatment for symptoms of diarrhoea.

So far two diarrhoea outbreaks have taken place in the district, claiming five lives, including those of two women. Earlier, four persons had died and over 100 were taken ill after diarrhoea outbreak in Alipur Araian village.
