Fatehgarh Sahib, July 20

Members of the District Bar Association (DBA) observed a strike today, demanding holiday on every Saturday.

The lawyers gathered outside the district courts and raised slogans in support of their demand. DBA president Amardeep Singh Dharani said a meeting of all Bar associations in the state would be held soon following which they would seek time from the Chief Justice to apprise him about their demand.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
