Kargil martyr Gurbakhsh Singh Ladi was remembered on the eve of the 25th anniversary of Kargil Vijay Divas by the ex-servicemen and ex-Guardian of Governance (GOG) by organising a ceremony at his village Bhadal Thuha in Amloh sub-division of the district.

Floral tributes were paid to his statue in his village but surprisingly, no official from the sub division remembered his martyrdom, who laid down his life fighting at the age of 21.

Gurbaksh Singh Ladi was born on May 13, 1978 and he joined the 14 Sikh Regiment of the Indian Army at the age of just 19 years and was martyred at the age of just 21 in the Kargil War in 1999. The village residents felt proud of the supreme sacrifice of Gurbakhsh Singh Ladi. They said that in his memory a statue was erected and a gate was built at the entrance of the village.
