Sawan Sankranti was celebrated with religious fervour and devotion at Fatehgarh Sahib Gurdwara and Jyoti Swarup Sahib. Thousands of devotees thronged the gurdwaras to pay obeisance.

The district police organised a Langar for people who visited the gurdwaras in front of the SSP office today. The SSP, Dr Ravjot Grewal, along with all the officials, performed ‘Sewa’ and served Langer to the people. There was a rush of people who were pleasantly surprised by the police’s unique gesture. The SSP said the Langar was organised by the police every year during the Sawan month.

On the occasion of Sankranti of Sawan month and Martyrdom Day of Bhai Shaheed Taru Singh, a blood donation camp was organised at Fatehgarh Sahib Gurdwara by the Baba Moti Ram Mehra Blood Donation Society. Society President Sher Singh inaugurated the camp. In the camp, 88 devotees donated blood to the team led by Dr Simarjit Kaur from Chandigarh Government Hospital’s blood bank.
