Former Principals of SGPC-run colleges held a meeting here today. Ten former principals attended the meeting during which they discussed the present scenario of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) decline and conflict in Panthic institutions in the recent past. They expressed their utmost concern and deep mental anguish over events and decisions taken in the recent past.

Addressing mediapersons, Dr Gurmohan Singh Walia, former Principal-cum-Vice Chancellor, Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University, said at the meeting, principals resented compromising importance and respect of highest temporal seat of the Sikhs Sri Akal Takht Sahib and Jathedars of Takhts by recent decision of the SGPC. They demanded constitution of a high-level committee to form proper procedure for the appointment of heads of Takhts, their services, terms of services, scope of work and retirement.
