To make the city green and pollution-free, the police launched a plantation campaign. The Senior Superintendent of Police, Dr Ravjot Grewal inaugurated the campaign by planting a sapling at Fatehgarh Sahib Police lines today.

Addressing the gathering, she said during the first phase the police would plant fruitful and shady trees at all police stations and public spaces in the district. She said planting saplings was the only way to protect the environment. Moreover, the trees protect various natural resources, such as water, which is depleting day by day. The Senior Superintendent of Police said that due to the indiscriminate felling of trees, human life and other animals have been facing various difficulties due to the increasing temperature at the global level.

The SSP, Dr Ravjot Grewal said the police would take the awareness campaign to all villages, towns, and cities in the district by involving the youth and NGOs. She urged students to sensitise their parents and other relatives about the conservation of the environment by planting as many saplings as possible.
