Health Minister Chetan Singh Jauramajra today got a warm welcome when he arrived in his home district Patiala for the first time after assuming the charge.

Jauramajra was welcomed by local MLAs Dr Balbir Singh, Harmeet Singh Pathanmajra, Gurlal Ghanour and Kulwant Singh Bazigar at the Circuit House, here.

A contingent of the Patiala police gave him a guard of honour upon his arrival. The minister, while talking to mediapersons, reiterated that the state government was committed to bring state-of-the-art healthcare facilities to people at their doorstep.

He said the Chief Minister had announced plans to open new medical colleges in the state so that the youth would not have to go abroad for medical education.

Jauramajra said he would visit all government hospitals, drug de-addiction centers in the state. He said health services at Government Rajindra Hospital would be further strengthened.
