Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann paid obeisance at the Kali Devi temple in here on Tuesday. The Chief Minister , however, did not address the scheduled press conference, where he was expected to comment on the now-withdrawn land pooling policy.

According to a press releaseissued later in the day, Mann offered prayers to seek blessings to serve people regardless of their caste, colour, creed and religion.

Mann said the temple stood as a testament to Punjab’s rich spiritual heritage, the release added.

The Chief Minister also held a detailed meeting with newly appointed management committee of the temple and discussed ongoing developments on the shrine premises.

The Chief Minister said his government was fully committed to giving a facelift to the shrine, according to the release. The Public Relations Department said that the Chief Minister could not address the press conference due to an important meeting.
