Punjab Minister for Health, Family Welfare, Medical Education and Research Dr Balbir Singh today visited grain markets to review paddy procurement in Patiala.

During his visit to Mandour, Dhangera, Laut, Bakshiwala and Lang purchase centres, the minister reaffirmed that the government was fully committed to procuring every grain of farmers’ harvest across the state’s mandis.

Dr Balbir Singh emphasised that the state government had made comprehensive arrangements to ensure the farmers’ crops are promptly procured upon their arrival at the grain markets. He noted that the number of temporary yards had been increased to address any challenges related to lifting of the grain.

He assured farmer of continuous procurement operations were being carried out to prevent any inconvenience.
