Punjab Health Minister Dr Balbir Singh, chaired a meeting this evening to review the ongoing government medical development projects at Rajindra Hospital. During the meeting, he assured adequate security would be provided in response to the demands of junior resident doctors and reiterated the state government’s commitment to ensuring the safety of medical professionals in the state.

The development projects amounting to Rs 128 crore are currently underway at Rajindra Hospital and Medical College. He also announced the construction of a trauma centre, estimated to cost Rs 70 crore, will commence soon.

He added the construction of a sports stadium at the medical college was nearing completion, and work on faculty housing had also begun.

The minister said officials concerned had been instructed to ensure all projects were completed on time.
