Representing Punjabi University, Patiala chess team member Uday Pratap Bawa, a student of Multani Mal Modi College here secured the runners-up position in the North Zone Inter-University Chess (Men) Championship held at Om Sterling Global University, Hisar, from February 20-23.

The Punjabi University team accumulated 12 points across seven rounds, finishing second. Delhi University secured first position with 14 points.

Uday Pratap, captain of Modi College Chess Team, had earlier helped his team secure second position in the Punjabi University Inter-College Chess Championship held at MGC, Fatehgarh Sahib, on February 4-5.

His outstanding performance earned him a place in the Punjabi University chess team through the selection trials conducted by Punjabi University.
