A large number of radical Sikhs, farmer union leaders and SAD(A) workers under the banner of Qaumi Insaaf Morcha today took out a massive protest march from Gurdwara Jyoti Swarup Sahib to Mohali.

An ‘Ardas’ was performed before the protest march led by ‘Panj Piaras’ began from the gurdwara. The marchers raised anti-establishment slogans and demanded immediate release of Sikhs languishing in jails in spite of the fact that they have completed their sentences.

Addressing mediapersons, Iman Singh Mann, president of SAD (A) youth wing, alleged that the Union Government was meting out step-motherly treatment to Sikhs. He alleged that the BJP was hell-bent on criminalising politics to get power. He demanded immediate release of Sikh prisoners who have completed their sentences.

Mann urged members of the Sikh community to support the morcha.

Meanwhile, commuters in Mohali complained of inconvenience caused in the afternoon due to the march.
