Gandhi raised slogans with the protesters, beside writing a letter to the CM, seeking the implementation of rules for unemployment allowance for the workers. Notably, the 2005 Act mandates the state government to pay unemployment allowance to the workers whose demand for work is not addressed within the stipulated time.

Patiala MP warned the government of raising the matter in the Parliament if the demands of the protesters were not met.
