Parneet Shergill today took over as the new Deputy Commissioner of Fatehgarh Sahib in place of Punamdeep Kaur. She was earlier Managing Director of the PRTC. She had also served as SDM Bassi Pathana and ADC Fatehgarh Sahib.

She was accorded a warm welcome by officials of the district administration and a contingent of the Punjab Police presented a guard of honour.

Before taking the charge, she along with family members paid obeisance at the Gurudwara Fatehgarh Sahib, where she was presented ‘siropa’ by the manager of the Gurudwara.

Addressing the officials, she said punctuality, discipline and transparency would be her priority. She said that all ongoing development projects would be completed on priority and no delay would be tolerated. She said, “The district administration is to redress the grievances of the people and to implement the government-sponsored public oriented schemes at the grassroots level.” She said as per the directions of the government the district administration would reach out to the people to redress their grievances at door steps.
