The police have arrested an alleged peddler with 810 gm opium at a check-post on the Morinda Road.

The accused has been identified as Gurpreet Singh, a resident of Dau Majra village. Sub-Inspector Jitender Pal Singh said he, Assistant Sub-Inspector Tilak Raj and other police personnel had set up a check-post near Dargah Bandgi Sahib on the Morinda Road. The accused, who was riding a scooter, suddenly turned his bike around on seeing the check-post. The police chased and eventually apprehended him. A case was registered .
