She directed officials of the Public Works Department and Patiala Municipal Corporation to float tenders and begin repair work as soon as the Water Supply and Sewerage Board issues the completion certificate.

Yadav assessed the pipeline laying status along key stretches including Gurdwara Dukh Niwaran Sahib Chowk, Jail Road, Tripari Turn, Sirhind Road to Khanda Chowk, Khanda Chowk to Lehal Chowk, Leela Bhawan Chowk to Fuhara Chowk and onwards to Kali Devi Mandir.

She emphasised that while repairing roads and intersections, adequate drainage must be ensured to prevent waterlogging.

Besides, illegal encroachments must be removed and road widths must be maintained, she added.

The Deputy Commissioner issued instructions to complete all work near Gurdwara Dukh Niwaran Sahib before the 350th Martyrdom Day of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur in November, ensuring smooth movement of devotees, who will come here to attend the celebrations.

She warned that any laxity, such as incomplete drainage or continued encroachments, will invite action against the responsible agencies and officers.

Yadav also stated that she will personally monitor progress on the site.
