Patiala Development Authority plans to generate Rs 200-crore revenue via e-auctions this year

The Patiala Development Authority (PDA) plans to generate Rs 200 crore in revenue through e-auctions in 2025, a year after record collections of Rs 160 crore in 2024.

“Last year, the PDA set a new record by collecting Rs 160 crore through e-auctions. The target was clear. We wanted to tap our potential and generate maximum collections through various ways,” PDA Chief Administrator Manisha Rana said while providing details about several development projects undertaken by the authority.

She said meetings with the planning wing, engineering wing and relevant staff were held to identify irregular and vacant chunk sites, commercial spaces and reserved areas under PDA/PUDA. “As a result, Rs 160 crore was raised through e-auctions held in September and October 2024, setting a new record. The PDA anticipates collecting Rs 200 crore in revenue through e-auctions in March 2025,” she said.

The PDA’s jurisdiction covers Patiala, Nabha, Barnala, Malerkotla, Dhuri, Amloh, Lehragaga, and Moonak. Over the past five years, pending cases related to Urban Estate, PUDA Enclave-1, and other locations have been resolved, resulting in financial benefits for PUDA. The sale of these sites in upcoming e-auctions is expected to further boost revenue.

The PDA officials now are eyeing completing the 12 Kuan Lehal Mandal site near Model Town, where long-pending electrical work at the site had been resolved in coordination with Punjab State Power Corporation Limited.
