A city judoka shined in the recently held taekwondo championship. Vrinda Mittal, an eleventh standard medical student of Modern Senior Secondary School, Patiala, participated in the CBSE National Taekwondo Championship held in Etawah (Uttar Pradesh) recently. She claimed gold medal in the under-17 girls’ category (under-63 kg).

The medal was awarded by chief guest Ahmed Abughaush, the gold medallist of Rio Olympics, 2016, in the presence of coaches Harpreet Singh and Rakesh Kumar. Vrinda thanked her alma mater and her parents for motivating her to do the best in the championship.
