On Sunday afternoon, the Vice-Chancellor allegedly entered the university’s girls’ hostel without permission.

According to the students, the Vice-Chancellor visited the hostel mess for an inspection and then proceeded to inspect hostel rooms without permission from girl students. “He also made inappropriate remarks about the attire of some girls present, which many of us objected to,” said a student who wished to remain anonymous.

Following this incident, the students sat on a dharna on the varsity campus and raised slogans against the Vice-Chancellor demanding his resignation. Students have refused to lift the dharna till the Vice-Chancellor is removed.
