Amidst allegations that Patiala civic body has turned a den of ugly nexus between touts and few employees who are receiving money in lieu of getting the work done, the Patiala’s Municipal Corporation Commissioner Aaditya Dachalwal, in a statement issued today, said that some mischievous individuals are interfering in the daily operations of the building branch and misleading the general public. These individuals, posing as RTI activists and mediapersons, falsely promise quick approval of maps/NOCs from the Building Branch/Municipal Corporation, Patiala officials, and demand money in return, he said.

Dachalwal appealed to the public to get their house and shop plans approved according to the laid down guidelines and to construct according to the approved plans to avoid falling into the trap of blackmailer.

He also urged that if anyone form the civic body demands a bribe from anyone, then the resident should feel free to report it to him.
