DIG Patiala Range Kuldeep Singh Chahal today chaired a range-level meeting of Patiala, Sangrur, Barnala and Malerkotla.

The meeting, which was attended by SSPs Varun Sharma (Patiala), Sartaj Singh Chahal (Sangrur), SSP Sarfraz Alam (Barnala) and Gaganjeet Singh (Malerkotla), focused on strategies to curb the rising crime rate and ensuring swift action in heinous offences.

Officers were directed to conduct immediate raids to apprehend absconding accused, obtain necessary approvals for untraced and cancellation reports and ensure timely disposal of property cases through court orders.

Special emphasis was laid on the ongoing “War against Drugs”. Direction were issued to take strict and quick action in cases under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act.
