Peddler’s house razed in Mandi Gobindgarh

The police and Municipal Council officials today demolished the house of a drug peddler and her daughter-in-law, both facing five cases, and currently lodged in the Nabha jail.

Earlier on March 5, the house of another peddler had been demolished in in the same colony.

Addressing media persons after the action, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Subham Aggarwal said the police were committed to eradicating the menace of drugs from the district and the state.

“The accused, Suresh Kaur, and her daughter-in-law, Sania, residing in Master Colony are facing five cases under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act and are presently lodged in Nabha Jail,” he said, further adding that the house was allegedly constructed illegally with money made from selling drugs.

Superintendent of Police (Investigation) Rakesh Yadav, Deputy Superintendent of Police Gurdeep Singh, Inspector Manpreet Singh Deol, Mandi Gobindgarh police stationhouse officer, were among the others present at the site.
