Blaming the police, BJP leader Preneet Kaur said that instead of taking bulldozer action against drug peddlers and criminals, the police had used bulldozers and sand-laden tippers to block the road leading to the village.
Preneet Kaur sat on a dharna in the village and refused to leave until those involved in the scuffle were taken away. She ended her protest only after SSP Varun Sharma assured her that strict action would be taken against anyone attempting to disturb law and order.
“Instead of fighting crime and drugs that are destroying Punjab’s youth, the state police is being misused as a political tool to intimidate villagers and BJP workers. This is not governance, it is vendetta politics,” Preneet Kaur said.
“No amount of intimidation or political vendetta will deter us. The BJP will continue to take these welfare schemes to every corner of Punjab and ensure that people get what is rightfully theirs under the Modi government,” she added.
