Punjab minister announces Rs 19 cr for road infra upgrade in Ghanaur

Punjab Health Minister Dr Balbir Singh has announced funds worth Rs 19 crore to upgrade the road infrastructure in Ghanaur.

During his visit to Sarala Head, the minister inspected the condition of roads and instructed officials from PWD, Punjab Mandi Board, Panchayati Raj, and irrigation department to expedite the repair and maintenance work on roads and bridges under their jurisdiction.

Singh said Rs 6.28 crore will be spent on the 5.44-km road from Untsar to Lohsimbli. Approximately Rs 12 crore will be allocated to the 17.5-km stretch from Kapuri to Lohsimbli. Rs 1.15 crore will be used to construct the 1.13-km link road connecting Sarala Kalan to the Haryana border.

The Minister emphasised the importance of completing these projects within stipulated timelines and directed the Panchayat Department to expedite the deepening of the village pond in Sarala Kalan. “The Punjab government is committed to the holistic development of the state”, he said. —TNS
