Punjab Police arrest 2 gangsters after brief encounter in Patiala
Patiala, July 14
The Patiala Police arrested two gangsters from Banur, Rajpura, involved in two firing incidents on Saturday night and recovered a revolver and pistol from their possession.
One of the incidents took place at Rajpura-Patiala toll plaza and the other at a liquor vend in Rajpura.
The gangsters have been identified as Deepak and Ramandeep Singh.
They were coming from Mohali when the police intercepted them. In an attempt to evade the arrest, they opened fire on the police. In self-defence, the police fired back and one of the gangster got injured in the cross-firing.
The accused have a criminal history, DGP Punjab police said in a post on social media platform X.
Further investigations are underway.
