Guest faculty at Punjabi University continued their protest on the third day today, demanding salary for full year.

The guest faculty (lecture based) said they were being exploited for a long time. “We render our services for 12 months at our centres but are paid for 7 to 8 months. The university recently issued a circular stating that guest faculty would work for 11 months and 25 days in a year. We will continue our protest till the issue of our salary is not resolved,” they said. “We will intensify the protest if our demands are not met. Student bodies, including AISF, PSU, PSU (Lalkar), SFI, DSO and PRSU have assured their support,” they said.
