Students of Punjabi University, Patiala, managed to bag pay packages up to Rs 6.50 lakh per annum during a campus placement drive involving 65 firms that concluded today.

The university said a total of 265 students were placed in different companies. University Vice Chancellor Professor Arvind said it was gratifying to note that against the heavy odds of Covid pandemic, the university has succeeded in securing record placements for the students.

Professor Manjit, Director, placement cell, discussed the efforts being made by the university to equip students with offbeat solutions and approaches to address upcoming challenges. He said multiple placement drives were organized last year to make sure that students got enough opportunities to showcase their skills and knowledge to companies of national and International repute.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.

The Tribune, the largest selling English daily in North India, publishes news and views without any bias or prejudice of any kind. Restraint and moderation, rather than agitational language and partisanship, are the hallmarks of the newspaper. It is an independent newspaper in the real sense of the term.

The Tribune has two sister publications, Punjabi Tribune (in Punjabi) and Dainik Tribune (in Hindi).
