Patiala, March 15

The School of Management Studies, Punjabi University, registered 70 per cent placements for students. University officials said a few students also bagged package of Rs 12 lakh per annum.

Officials said the department was in contact with more than 200 companies for placement opportunities.

Reputed companies, including Airtel, Axis Bank, Skylark, SBI Mutual, IFFCO-Tokio, Jungleworks, Kotak Mahindra Bank, HDB Financial Services Limited, Apollo Munich, Canara HSBC, Extramarks Education and UPL offered jobs to students on the campus.

Others, including HDFC Bank, Kotak Life, Bajaj Finserv and India Mart are also expected to conduct the placement drive.

Vice-Chancellor Professor BS Ghuman said the recruiting companies appreciated the students. He said the alumni carved a niche for themselves in their respective fields and many of them were well-known entrepreneurs.
