Rajya Sabha member from Punjab Vikramjit Singh Sahney today announced a grant of Rs 2.25 crore for the Punjabi University. In his address at the concluding ceremony on the last day of the 37th North Zone Inter-University Youth Festival, the MP said that the university was a magnificent heritage of the state and he would make every possible contribution for its holistic development.

He announced a grant of Rs 2 crore for one more reading room in the university library. He also made announcement to provide monetary assistance of Rs 25 lakh for the renovation and facelift of Guru Teg Bahadur Auditorium.

Earlier, during discussions in the VC office, the MP assured Prof Arvind of providing requisite support for the university’s betterment. He said as an alumnus of the university it was his foremost responsibility to ensure maximum contribution for development of this premier educational institute of the state.
