Patiala, January 18

Addressing the rally, Vikrant Khandelwal, organising secretary, ABVP, said the Act was not against any religion or community.

He said some ‘anti-national parties’ were creating a fear psychosis in the mind of the minorities for their vested interest.

He claimed the CAA was intended to grant citizenship not for snatching the rights of Indians. The rally kicked off from Vir Haqiqat Rai Ground and passed through the city.

Harinder Gupta, president of the Manch, said the CAA was for the betterment of the country and was necessary in view of the present scenario around the world. He said certain forces in the country were making false statements creating panic among a particular section of the society.
