Niladri Kumar, known for his ability to seamlessly blend innovation with tradition, began his performance with a special recital on the ‘Zitar’ (electric sitar), fulfilling a special request from Patiala’s enthusiastic audience. He opened with a fusion of “Raag Tilak Nat” and “Tilak Kamod”, skilfully bringing out the depth of sound in his instrument. His performance then transitioned into the serene and timeless melodies of Raag Bhairavi, evoking a deep emotional connection with the audience. The synergy between Niladri Kumar’s sitar and Satyajit Talwalkar’s rhythmic mastery on the tabla created an enchanting atmosphere, with every note resonating through the grand setting of the illuminated Qila Mubarak.
