On the directions of District and Sessions Judge-cum-Chairman, District Legal Services Authority Arun Gupta, the District Legal Services Authority organised an awareness seminar at RIMT University, Mandi Gobindgarh, on the eve of World Justice Day.

Addressing the seminar, advocate Parveen Kaur, representative of the DLSA, said the judicial system is very helpful in providing benefit of various welfare schemes run by the government to the people at ground level, ensuring fair distribution and check on corruption.

She apprised the students in detail about the free legal services provided to various sections by the DLSA. She said that free legal services will be provided to persons in custody, women, children, homeless victims, members of Scheduled Castes or Tribes, mentally ill, victims of natural calamities, industrial workers and every person whose annual income is less than Rs 3 lakh.
