Thapar Institute of Engineering & Technology (TIET), in collaboration with the National Institute of Technical Teachers Training and Research (NITTTR), Chandigarh, organised the International Conference on Transforming Higher Education for the Future: Education 4.0 (THEC 2025) on September 26.

The international conference had remarkable participation with one hundred and seventy-three research papers received from India and abroad, of which 63% were selected following a rigorous review by independent experts and international referees. After the technical session presentations, twelve papers stood out.

The two-day event brought together eminent academicians, researchers, policymakers and industry leaders to deliberate on the evolving paradigms of higher education in the digital era.

According to a press release, the occasion marked the presence of Chief Guest, Prof. Suman Chakraborty, Director, IIT Kharagpur & President’s National Award for Teachers Awardee 2023, whose keynote address set the tone for the deliberations to follow. Prof. Chakraborty drew attention to the rapidly changing role of higher education in preparing students for the future.

Over two days, the conference featured expert talks, panel discussions, and research presentations on experiential learning, faculty development, AI in education, employability, and global perspectives under NEP 2020.
