Three Class X toppers spend day with Patiala DC

It was a day to remember for three students from government schools in the district who recently earned top scores in their Class X results.

They spent the day in the company of Deputy Commissioner Dr Preeti Yadav under the Punjab Government’s special initiative “One Day with DC and SSP”, launched under the leadership of CM Bhagwant Singh Mann.

The students, Mehakpreet Kaur of Government Senior Secondary School, Maru (97.69%), Simran of School of Eminence, Philkhana (97.38%), and Amanpreet Kaur of Government Senior Secondary School, Ghazipur; got an exclusive opportunity to observe the inner workings of the district administration. They witnessed firsthand how the DC’s office functions, sat in on public hearings, observed court case disposals, attended departmental meetings, and interacted with senior officials.

The girls said, “Until now, we only knew the road from our homes to school. Today, we had the chance to sit with the DC, listen to people’s problems, and see how decisions are made. It’s something we’ll never forget.” They added that the most touching moment was sharing lunch with the DC, who personally served them food – a gesture they described as unforgettable.
