Two killed, one injured in blast at workshop

Two people were killed and another was injured in a blast that took place at a workshop at Sirhind town last evening. The deceased have been identified as Manoj Tiwari and Avtar Singh residents of Sirhind.

The injured victim, Narinder Kumar, meanwhile, has been admitted to the Civil Hospital for treatment.

As per the information, all of them were repairing an oil tanker in the HP engineering workshop near Madhopur Sirhind at the time of the sudden explosion.

Sharing further details, Sirhind SHO Sandeep Singh said a forensic team has been pressed into service for the preliminary investigation and to determine the exact cause of the accident. He said the police have kept the bodies at the Civil Hospital for post-mortem. —OC
