The police have arrested two Nihang Sikhs for allegedly attacking an ASI on duty during the Shaheedi Sabha.
The case was registered following the complaint of Sanghol police post in-charge ASI Harminder Singh under sections 109, 132, 221, 351, 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

The ASI in his complaint said he was on duty during Shaheedi Sabha near Gurdwara Sheesh Ganj Sahib with other police personnel when a party of Nihang Sikhs passed them by. Suddenly, two of the Nihangs started beating a boy with Kirpans and sticks. Swinging into action, he tried to save the boy when the two accused attacked him as well. They were later arrested.
The injured boy was admitted to the hospital.
