The police conducted cordon and search operations in towns and slum areas of the district and arrested 10 persons in nine drug cases.

Cops recovered eight drums of illegal liquor, 3 litres of hooch, 310 narcotic pills, 1.5 gm heroin, 20 narcotic injections and 500 gm of ganja from the suspects.

Interacting with mediapersons after the cordon and search operation at the houses of suspects at various places in the district, including Tarkhan Majra village and Master Colony of Mandi Gobindgarh, SSP Shubham Aggarwal said the police initiated the operation under the war on drugs campaign and to make Fatehgarh Sahib a drug-free district.

While talking to The Tribune, the SSP said the police also attached the properties of many people involved in the drug business in the past.
