A woman died, while a man sustained serious burn injuries following an explosion in the cooking gas cylinder. The victim has been identified as Renu. The injured person, Raju, was rushed to the hospital for treatment. The incident took place at Dhamo Majra village.

Preliminary investigation showed that Raju had used pilfer gas from cooking gas cylinders. He was extracting gas when one of the cylinders suddenly exploded. During the blast, Renu, who lived in the nearby quarter and Raju sustained serious injuries. The two were immediately taken to the Government Rajindra Hospital, where doctors declared Renu dead on arrival while Raju is undergoing treatment.

DSP Satnam Singh Sangha said a complaint has been received from the deceased woman’s family members and a probe was underway. —TNS
