The car driver fled the scene, leaving the vehicle behind. Police have registered a hit-and-run case and launched a search to nab the absconding driver.

SHO Gurpinder Singh of Police Station Division No 2 said that Santosh Kumari, originally from Chandigarh, worked as a senior assistant at the PSPCL head office in Patiala. She had been living with her family in a rented house in Sulur.

Last night, Santosh was reportedly riding back home on her e-scooter when a speeding Hyundai Creta car hit her and another scooter. The accident was so horrific that the victim tossed a few metres into the air and died on the spot.
