Yadavindra Public School (YPS) celebrated its Foundation Day by paying homage to the institution’s founder, Yadavindra Singh Mohindra Bahadur. Office-bearers and members of YPS board of governors, school director Maj Gen B S Grewal, deputy headmaster Anil Bajaj, bursar, teachers and students took part in the ceremony.

Following the tribute, the day unfolded into exciting events, including a cricket match between old students and present Yadavindrians, and a women’s basketball match. The school grounds buzzed with energy as students participated in the ‘pagal gymkhana games’, showcasing their prowess in a number of activities.

Old Yadavindrians managed to win the cricket match, while present Yadavindrians proved their mettle in the basketball match. The day ended with a prize distribution ceremony.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.

The Tribune, the largest selling English daily in North India, publishes news and views without any bias or prejudice of any kind. Restraint and moderation, rather than agitational language and partisanship, are the hallmarks of the newspaper. It is an independent newspaper in the real sense of the term.

The Tribune has two sister publications, Punjabi Tribune (in Punjabi) and Dainik Tribune (in Hindi).
