The accident happened when a stray animal (a cow) suddenly came in front of his bike, causing it to lose balance and crash. Jawanda sustained serious injuries.

Delay in medical treatment proved fatal

Following the accident, Jawanda was immediately taken by his companions to JN Shory Multispecialty Hospital in Pinjore. However, allegations have emerged that the private hospital refused to admit him for full treatment, providing only first aid before referring him to the Civil Hospital in Sector 6, Panchkula.

From there, he was shifted to Fortis Hospital in Mohali, where he remained on ventilator for 11 days before passing away on October 8.

Local residents and human rights groups claim that timely and proper medical care could have saved the singer’s life.

Doctors clarify 'patient was unconscious, no visible external injuries'

Dr Vimal Shauri and Dr Mohit Shauri of JN Shauri Hospital stated that an unconscious patient named Rajbir was brought in around 9 am by two companions.

Dr Mohit explained, “There were no visible external injuries on the body. We administered injections and medication and tried to revive him for about 15–20 minutes, but there was no response. We felt he needed advanced care and referred him to a larger hospital.”

The doctors added that they were unaware that the patient was the well-known singer.

Dr Mohit said, “We only realised who he was after seeing news reports on TV.”

The hospital has also released CCTV footage showing the injured man being brought in.

According to local shopkeepers, the accident occurred when two bulls were fighting on the road and suddenly came in front of Jawanda’s motorcycle. One eyewitness said, “The bike lost control and skidded, throwing the rider onto the road.”

Pinjore police station in-charge, Bachhu Singh, confirmed that a full investigation is under way. Police are also looking into whether there was any negligence or delay in providing first aid that may have contributed to the singer’s death.
