The state government today appointed four new deputy commissioners for the districts of Mansa, Gurdaspur, Muktsar and Moga. Kulwant Singh has been shifted from Moga to Mansa and Viresh Sarangal from Gurdaspur to Moga. The Director, Local Government, Uma Shankar Gupta, is the new DC of Gurdaspur, while Rajesh Tripathi is the new Muktsar DC.

Meanwhile, posting and transfer orders of one IAS officer and 20 PCS officers were also issued today. As many as 13 were posted as Additional Deputy Commissioners, six as subdivisional magistrates, one as the PPSC Secretary and one as the Secretary in the State Election Commission.

Interestingly, within hours, the transfer orders of PCS officer Rahul Chaba were cancelled . He was first transferred from Hoshiarpur to Bathinda as the ADC and later tonight his transfer orders were cancelled.
